B series pumps are realized in cast iron, bronze or in Aisi 316 stainless steel (only for the models in stainless steel from size 5 to 150 see MX series pumps). Shafts and gears undergo a particular thermal anti-wear and anti-friction treatment.

The materials are chosen according to the pump type. The constructing standard provides gears and shafts in tempered carbon steel for cast iron pumps; bronze gears and Aisi 316 stainless steel shafts for bronze pumps; Aisi 316 shafts and gears for stainless steel pumps. For hard duty works it is possible to provide gears and shafts with "HH" (High Hardness) treatment.

This special treatment considerably increases the resistance to wear and confers major protection from chemical corrosion, and an extremely low friction coefficient. Shafts are supported by bushings in reinforced PTFE or sintered self-lubricanting material according to the application type. The seal can be carried out with packing (design temperature 300°C) or with a simple or double mechanical seal (design temperature 200°C) in various selected materials on the basis of the chemical and physical characteristics of the pumped product.

The standard connections are BSP threaded ones for sizes from B5 to B40, oval threaded couner-flange BSP for sizes from B50 to B150 and square threaded couner-flange BSP for sizes from B200 to B600. All the models can be integrated with ANSI or DIN flanges on request. If not stated otherwise, the rotation direction of the pump is clockwise ( side view shaft exit), by request it is possible to insert mechanical seals suitable for counterclockwise or reversible rotation.

BX models are manufactured in AISI 316 for standard execution, with thermic antiwear, antifriction treatment that makes the components of the pump black ("Black treatment"). For the food sector, by request, it is possible to use thermic treatment that maintains the pump's parts natural steel colour ("White treatment"). By request, it is possible to add a pre-heating chamber to the pump and/or an incorporated safety valve. The pumps of this series can be supplied bare shaft or with base plate coupled to engines, engine reducers or variators with alignment constructed according to the CE regulation.
